We are Now Offering Non-Surgical Skin Cancer Treatment and Keloid Removal with Superficial Radiation

Jeffrey Klein MD & Associates Dermatology is pleased to be able to offer a new skin cancer treatment. Superficial Radiation Therapy with the SRT-100TM is the new non-surgical, painless, extremely effective, and safe to use treatment option for skin cancer, as well as keloid removal.

Every year, the number of new skin cancer cases (basal and squamous cell carcinoma) diagnosed in America amount to four million. The usual options for skin cancer treatment require surgery that leaves healthy skin damaged. The healing process after the surgery can be a painfully long one, and the results of the surgery can leave patients scarred and deeply upset. Fortunately, we now have a better treatment option for our patients – Superficial Radiation Therapy with the SRT-100TM.

The SRT-100TM works with extreme accuracy to deliver Superficial Radiation Therapy that goes no further then skin deep. The dose of radiation is small, but it is strong enough to kill non-melanoma type cancer cells. This treatment will not cause damage to the healthy tissue in the area. The results are remarkable since patients have no stitches or scars that typically result from surgical skin cancer treatment. Also, the risk of infection is very low when Superficial Radiation Therapy with the SRT-100TM is used, and reconstructive plastic surgery isn’t needed afterwards.

SRT-100TM Superficial Radiation Therapy can also be used to effectively remove keloids. A keloid is scar tissue that forms over a wound, and keloids often develop after surgery. They look like growths, and they feel hard. Keloids develop after surgery over time, but they may also develop after other types of trauma to the skin, like acne or the chickenpox. Ear piercing can cause the development of keloids too. Keloids are unattractive scars that can be painful, and about 18 million people in America have them. Note that the size of a keloid will determine how many treatments will be needed.

Superficial Radiation Therapy using the SRT-100TM is non-invasive, and it causes no negative side effects. For people with medical problems that make surgery risky, this is the best treatment for skin cancer available. If you want a skin cancer or keloid removal treatment that will give you outstanding results, contact us to make an appointment today and let us help you.
