Get a Head Start on Your Beach Body With Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is liposuction without the risks and general anesthesia. It also boasts an accelerated recovery. That makes it the perfect solution to get your beach body ready for this summer.

At HK Dermatology in San Juan Capistrano, California, Jeffery Klein, MD, the inventor of the tumescent liposuction technique, and our team offer it as part of our comprehensive cosmetic services

We perform tumescent liposuction as an outpatient procedure utilizing tiny micro-cannulas, leaving you with smaller scars and smoother results.

Tumescent liposuction can help you get the body of your dreams, so keep reading to learn more about this revolutionary surgical technique.

What is tumescent liposuction exactly?

Tumescent liposuction involves the injection of a solution of local anesthesia, saline, Lidocaine, and epinephrine so you are comfortable. Dr. Klein has been perfecting this process since the late 1980s to make liposuction easier and virtually painless.

Once the solution is injected, Dr. Klein makes a small incision to insert a micro-tube that removes the excess fat from your treatment area. The solution causes tissues to swell in the target area, making fat removal easier. After removing the fat, you’re placed in an elastic compression garment to collapse the tunnels and decrease swelling.

Post-procedure pain is minimized because the local anesthetic lasts the rest of the day. Any additional discomfort can be managed with over-the-counter medication. You can walk immediately after your treatment, work within a day or two, and exercise after a week.

You will experience some swelling, but it improves quickly after a few days. However, it will take up to four months for the swelling to fully resolve and maximum results to show.

What’s better about tumescent liposuction?

There are many reasons tumescent liposuction may be a better option for you than traditional liposuction. These include:

Because tumescent liposuction uses vasoconstriction, you experience less overall swelling and bruising.

How will tumescent liposuction help with my beach body?

Getting your tumescent liposuction now is the perfect time to get a head start on your beach body. That’s because while tumescent liposuction is revolutionary, it won’t happen overnight.

Tumescent liposuction swelling resolves quickly, and you’ll start to see the results of your procedure after a week. You can expect 3-4 months for full recovery while wearing your compression garment as instructed to speed up the process.

Who can get tumescent liposuction?

The only way to find out if tumescent liposuction is for you is by meeting with an expert like Dr. Klein and our HK Dermatology team.
