Look Your Best for the Holidays with Cosmetic Injectables

Look your best for the holidays and beyond with cosmetic injectables. Dr. Jeffrey A. Klein and his dynamic team at HK Dermatology in San Juan Capistrano, California inject more joy into the season with nonsurgical cosmetic fillers.

Look more youthful for the New Year

As we age, we lose some of our skin’s strength and elasticity as collagen and elastin levels decrease. Dermal fillers replace some of these lost proteins to plump up your skin’s volume. In as little as 30 minutes, Dr. Klein and his staff can erase years of wear-and-tear from your face with a variety of fillers, including:

Your natural-looking results generally last up to six months or more.

Choose the right fillers for your face

You should only receive fillers from a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Our experienced team picks the perfect filler to ease your wrinkles depending on their location and depth.

Hyaluronic Acid

The most common type of filler, hyaluronic acid (HA), is produced naturally by your body. Our team uses fillers, such as Restylane and Juvéderm, with this age-defying substance. Pollution, smoke, and ultraviolet rays speed up the formation of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers hydrate your skin from the inside out, to restore a firmer, more youthful appearance. This amazing compound also does wonders for bones, dry eyes, and even acid reflux.

Originally formulated as a dermal filler in 1989, HA has become one of the most popular ingredients in cosmetic injectables. These fillers work by plumping up the volume beneath your skin, and they’re especially helpful to improve sunken cheeks, deep wrinkles, and thin lips. Since dermal fillers mimic your body’s own organic material, allergic reactions are rare. Although dermal fillers can be either animal-derived and synthetic HA, we use only synthetic non-animal derived hyaluronic fillers in addition to Sculptra® and Radiesse®. We are also one of the first and few practices to offer the RHA® Collection of resilient hyaluronic acid fillers. RHA® is the first and only FDA-Approved HA Filler for dynamic facial wrinkles and folds, designed to seamlessly adapt to your facial movement.

Plump up for the holidays

Plump up your skin — rather than your waist — this holiday season with dermal fillers. While many of us worry about weight gain over the holidays, plumping up your skin may be just what the doctor ordered. In most cases, in less than an hour, our dedicated practitioner injects a dermal filler to stimulate collagen production. You should notice immediate results and enjoy a more vibrant appearance that lasts right through the New Year as collagen production continues.

Botox® versus dermal fillers

Botox injectable toxins work especially well for frown lines and crow’s feet. Dermal fillers smooth deeper wrinkles in hands, lips, and cheeks. The procedure is simple. Relax while we:

  1. Apply numbing cream and use a filler with lidocaine
  2. Inject the filler using an extremely small needle or cannula
  3. Use an ice pack to relieve any pain, redness, or swelling

Although these injections are all relatively safe, pregnant women, as well as those with pre-existing conditions such as lupus, diabetes, or blood-clotting disorders, should forgo fillers. Our practitioner will fully explain your pre-and post-care at your consultation. For two weeks or so before and after treatment, avoid:

In most cases, if you do develop a bruise, it can be minimized with the complementary laser treatment the following day. There’s essentially no need for downtime. Feel free to resume most normal activities following your treatment. Just skip the sunbathing and skiing, and avoid extreme movements for a few days while the filler takes hold.

Celebrate the holidays with a smile

Once our skin care experts review your goals and medical history, we decide which filler or combination of fillers work best for you. Whether you choose to turn your frown upside down with HA-based injectables or try one of our newer poly-L-lactic acid treatments to replace lost collagen, our staff helps you sail through the season with barely a wrinkle.
